Arnaldo Caprai purchased 12.5 acres in Montefalco in 1971. In 1988, ownership passed on to Arnaldo’s son, Marco, who began to cultivate the the signature grape of the Montefalco region for more than 400 years: Sagrantino. Awarded Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast Magazine in 2016, today the winery is the leading producer of top quality Sagrantino. This Rosso is their best value. A blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino and 15% Merlot from vines averaging 25 years of age in the clay and limestone soils of Umbria. the wine fermented in stainless steel with ingenous yeast and aged 12 months in French oak barriques.
