Description
Winery: One of Sauternes original estates, Château de Carmes de Rieussec occupies 227 acres of prime territory in the heart of Bordeaux’s sweet wine country. The 2019 vintage was one of the warmest in recent memory in Bordeaux, yet the Sémillon at Rieussec still developed ample botrytis to yield an ultra-aromatic and age-worthy Sauternes. After pressing, the wine was fermented and kept on the lees with regular stirring until December, after which time it was aged in oak barrels for roughly 12 months before bottling.
