Here’s a tremendous value. Barbaresco is one of Piedmont’s greatest wines. 100% Nebbiolo from a strictly limited zone. Grapes were sourced from vineyards at 1000 to 1200 feet above sea level, with high-density plantings and careful vine training all to limit yields. The mature 40-year-old vines bring grapes with rich flavors, intensity and nuance. In the winery, the grapes are macerated for 25-30 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. It was then aged for 22 months in large French oak barrelsJames Suckling scored this 91 points saying “Aromas of loganberries and cedar follow through to a medium-bodied palate with fine, lightly chewy tannins, picking up a lightly toasty, vanilla note on the finish.
