The Chateau de Franc is a property that dates back to the 1400’s. it was in the mid-1980’s that two childhood friends- Dominique Hebrard, ex-co-owner of Château Cheval Blanc, and Hubert De Boüard, co-owner of château Angelus – fell in love with this property and decided to join in together as co-owners. Totally restoring the property and winery this jewel of the tiny Franc, Cotes de Bordeaux appellation on the right bank of the Gironde, has nearly 90 acres of vineyards located on the highest hills in the region. They are planted 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc on chalky clay soils and the vines average 25 years of age. With a dynamic team in place who manage this property with passion and enthusiasm, the wines truly stand out and over-achieve.This 2018 was carefully harvested and hand sorted at the winery.
