Chateau Le Grand Verdus is a very atypical estate with a beautiful story from the beginning of the 19th century (with a superb Renaissance manor dating from 1579, listed at UNESCO Historic Heritage, where the family still lives). The Chateau was purchased in 1810 by an ancestor, Claude Deschamps, who was an architect for Napoleon 1st (he designed the famous bridge Pont de Pierre in Bordeaux). The creation of the vineyards began in 1949 and has since been producing high quality Bordeaux wines that are universally recognized and exported 32 countries. The estate lies near Saint Emilion and boasts 276 acres of vines with various microclimates and unique terroir variation. Their successful Bordeaux winemaking has been passed down from generation to generation and today, father and sons, Antoine, Thomas and Edouard continue this great heritage.
