Chateau Monbousquet is a Cru Classe Chateau in Saint Emilion. The history goes back many centuries but the modern era starts with the purchase of the Chateau by Gerard Perse in 1993. Perse renovated and re-invigorated this Classified estate bringing it back to world-class stature. The vineyard is 80 acres planted 60% Merlot 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. This 2018 was an extremely successful wine for the estate.Wine Spectator scored this 95 points saying “Espresso crema and melted black licorice aromas give way to a lush range of cassis, plum reduction and blackberry confiture flavors that roll through with authority. Long finish is carried by a buried graphite note and a hint of smoldering earth. An amped in style but if you like muscle and panache, you’ll dig this. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
