We are loving this Domaine de l’Ecu Classic Muscadet winelovers!! Not just because it is spectacular with a platter of oysters on the half shell, but because its gorgeous acidity and minerality are perfect with fried chicken, even if that chicken has some heat to it! Not a fan of raw oysters? Roll them in some seasoned cornmeal and fry em up; the Domaine de l’Ecu will not disappoint. Catfish and grits? Yes. Corn tacos with grilled chicken – that works too. The 2020 version delivers superb aromatic complexity in its blend of breadfruit, a hint of pear, beautiful leesy elements that show sweetly nutty in tone, salty minerality and a top note of dried flowers. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, focused, complex and nicely balanced, with a good core, fine mineral drive and bounce, zesty acids and a long, wide-open and classy finish.
