Description
Maison Louis Jadot produces 15 Premier Cru wines from the Côte de Nuits, 9 of them from wholly owned vineyards. Vosne-Romanée has 14 Premiers Crus and 7 Grands Crus. The vineyard land is 320 meters in altitude and faces east-southeast on brown chalk and clay soil with stones. The Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in open vats for up to 4 weeks, and then the wine is matured for 18 months in oak barrels.Vinous scored this wine 92 points saying The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Village has a very tight bouquet at first, but that was due to it being pulled from barrel just before my tasting; it coalesces in the glass and gains delineation over 20-30 minutes. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannins, a fine bead of acidity and good precision on the finish. This punches above its weight. Recommended.Barrel Sample: 90-92 750 ml
