Description
Vinum is the first machine-made glass to based on the characteristics of grape varietal. The brand was developed in tasting workshops where the content commanded the shape. Vinum is executed in lead crystal, machine blown in Bavaria, Germany. Robert M. Parker, Jr.: “The finest glasses for both technical and hedonistic purposes are those made by Riedel. The effect of these glasses on fine wine is profound. I cannot emphasize enough what a difference they make.” Time Magazine: “The Riedel family has never stamped its name on a single bottle of wine. But over the past 50 years, this Austrian clan of master glassmakers has done more to enhance the oenophile’s pleasure than almost any winemaking dynasty.” Riedel: “The magic of this glass is its ability to highlight the full spectrum of aromas and flavors offered by fine champagnes and sparkling wines while preserving their elegant effervescence. Bubbles pose a challenge. How do you keep the sparkle in sparkling wine? The solution lies at the bottom of each Vinum Prestige Cuvee Flute. Etched into each is a small dot, the purpose of which is to provide a slightly abraded surface that serves to generate a continuous stream of bubbles and prevent the champagne from going flat in the glass. Designed to highlight the bouquet of champagne, this light and well-balanced glass accentuates the complexity and richness of vintage champagnes and prestige cuvees.” Varietal use: Champagne, Cuvee Prestige, Prosecco, Rose Champagne, Vintage Champagne, Vintage Sparkling Wine Volume: 8 1/2 ounces Height: 8 5/8 inches Glass: Lead crystal.
