Tenuta Polvaro in the Venzia DOC is an estate that dates back to the 1600’s. The De Zan family, makers of the Candoni wines, have restored it to modern grandeur and have a state-of-the-art winemaking facility here. The property is located just northeast of Venice, close enough to the Adriatic to have a very balanced, warm microclimate. Here the Pinot Grigio grapes grown on their estate ripen fully and take on a richness not often seen in Italian Pinot Grigio. Modern vinification allows the wine to fully express the delightful character if this compelling grape variety. This 2019 was a Gold medal winner and Reserve Class Champion at the Houston Rodeo Uncorked International Wine Competition 2022. It shows aromas of light citrus and delicate flowers complemented by hints of green apples and Barlett pears, ending with a delightfully long finish. 750 ml
