Description
With our first president and “Father of our Country”, George Washington gracing the label this wine reminds us that Zinfandel was considered “the American grape” for a long time before its true Adriatic origins were discerned. Lodi is one of the regions where Zin was first cultivated and vinified by the pioneers who settled the wild west. The old vine plantings that still grow in this area offer Zin with unique character and expression. A blend of 93% Zinfandel and 7% Syrah, grapes from each vineyard block were fermented separately spending an average of 12 days on the skins. The wine then aged for 12 months in 25% new American oak barrels. This Zin shows aromas of plum, cherry, blackberry and cinnamon spice, with good density, chewy tannins and a long smooth finish.Customers say ” A thoroughly enjoyable zinfandel” “Good QPR” “A beautiful example of a Lodi Zinfandel”. 750 ml
