Description
A Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2021 selection, ZaHa means “Heart” in Mendoza’s native Huarpe language. Grapes were sourced from a small lot in the Toko vineyard at 4000 feet, which has a rocky, limestone driven soil. Only natural yeasts were used and 10-20% whole clusters in the fermenters for a slow and gradual fermentation. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine was aged 14 months in French oak barrels.James Suckling scored this 91 points saying “Fresh, rich fruit with tarry notes, juicy black cherries, roasted spices and hints of figs and fresh herbs. Generous on the palate, but well retained by a fresh, fine-grained tannin structure. Drink now or hold.”Wine Spectator scored this 91 points saying “This robust red is filled with concentrated dark plum and blackberry flavors that turn creamy and rich-tasting midpalate. Chocolate tart accents fill the lively finish, which is backed by firm acidity and tannins. Drink now through 2025.” 750 ml
